In sickness and in health

So this week, if you follow my blog, has been rather dead. That’s because I too have been somewhat dead.

(Don’t worry, I’m better now.) :)

On Monday I was OK, Tuesday I went and picked up my shinny new Netbook which is going to help me write my Dissertation this year (Will explain why soon.) but the whole of Tuesday I felt pretty tired and had a bit of a cough. Nothing major, just occasional tickles which spurt out a cough. Wednesday I woke up and I felt like a weighed a ton! I felt drunk and was wobbling all over, bad cough which when I coughed, spiked my chest. :( And also a blocked as hell nose. So, I crippled myself to my bed. I got up for 5 minutes, had a drinkie then slept all night. Woke up Thursday and felt lots better in comparison, kinda just felt like a normal cold and I had no real memory of anything on Weds. o.O A couple of people said it could be Swine Flu so I rang NHS direct and they said no. Well, the guy I spoke to sounded like George Agdgdgwengo from Phonejacker. Friday I felt near fine and yesterday I was finally fine enough to leave the house and walk places. (I wasn’t able to the previous days without my chest trying to kill me.) and now I’m here today nursing a very very mild blocked nose and a bit sleepy. :) So yeh, that’s why you aint heard from me, lol.

SO back to the netbook. On Monday I worked on the Mezzanine level as our studio was crammed with newbies and a couple 3rd years. So I hit the PC’s. All three of them don’t have flash installed which was a pain when trying to YouTube hunt for some research/inspiration and also they still have an issue with the Cruiser pen drives. The Mac’s no longer on the network so theres no chance of using that to research. So I thought to myself the netbook would be a good buy now. I’d been toying with the idea of one for a LONG time now, even sold my beasty 17″ laptop to fund a more portable netbook. It’s got a 7hr battery which means I can work in the studio, another comp room, in the Cafe, in the yard, on a bus, in the garden, on a plane, train or in a car! It’s diddy and weights practically nothing and really loves running Windows 7. Also means I can keep all my research/work in one place and then back it up every so often. So in the long run it will make me more productive and have no place where I cant type away.

I can’t really say I’ve played with it a whole lot lately due to sickness, but it shall become my right hand man soon enough. :)
