All aboard the Jessops and eBay links. (For reference)
Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS or this if I can’t afford the Canon. Some filters. A new flashgun. (Mine died on me, I think it took a few too many knocks in my bag. )
Some flash triggers w/receivers. And anything else I feel needed.
I have been looking at a Canon 10-20mm wide-angle lens, but, I think I will save that for when I have lots (and I mean lots!) of spare cash lying around so I can afford it. Any 18mm lens will do the job it can do and/or multiple image panoramic instead of..
I’ve also looked into flash gels. What they do is when you use your flash, the gels are in an array of colours (can also layer them to mix colours) and, from the looks of it, can be anything from less than a quid to lots and lots of quids. I saw a YouTube video a few days back (I’ve lots the damn link!!!) which showed them in action with a belly dancer dancing in front of a sheet in a room. The photographer had 3 remote flashes for that shoot – one behind the sheet with a Red gel, one in front of the lady (I believe it was just the normal flash) and one to her front-left rather high up but I can’t remember what or if a gel was used on that one. Anyway, the after pictures were absolutely stunning! This lady was crisp and clear, perfectly toned near to real life and the Brown and Cream sheet/drape/curtain behind her had a stunning Red glow!
Something I would love to experiment with in the future as it seem’s I am doing quite a bit of people-oriented photography of late.
While I’m here, here are some of my latest piccys that I’m proud of.
