End of year show.

Monday, June 1st, 2009

So, another Higher Education year has officially ended and it was a nice looong slog to get it done.

I had a couple of nice extra task’s to do along side my Major Project of which proved how bad my time management can be. Rolling into the last week of College I had got most of the stuff out of the way and only had that to do, on the last night before hand in everything tallyed up and was way more than I expected. It didn’t help that at 6am on deadline day that my Portable Hard Drive (with all and the only copies of raw footage, edited footage and project files, I might add…) wouldn’t mount on any Mac! It’s formatted to HSF+ so there’s no chance Windows would read it off the cuff without extra programs (of which, don’t work on Windows 7!)

Anywho, long story short I was done slightly ahead of time but was completely shattered that night so the ‘lets get drunk’ plan turned into me collapsing on my bed at 8pm and sleeping for 13 hours. :D

Anyways, this all leads me to now and I have three(ish) weeks to help prep the studio for our End Of Year Show. Also, I have three(ish) weeks to sort my shiz out for it! I didn’t really know what I was going to do for it. I know nearly all the third year’s and all their ideas are really amazing, making their own stands/stalls to show their work off in, in a sense. For me, I guess it would just be a catalog of my work, but in what way to display it! I kinda had a brain storm in my head of what I would do and came up with a couple of ideas.

1) A fancy webpage people could navigate and check out my work; video’s or otherwise.

2) A fancy interactive DVD. Well, interactive as in navigating like a normal DVD, but having a fancy layout, backgrounds and menus.

3) Just make a mahoosive show reel and plonk it on a Mac.

4) Go to the pub and call in sick.

Well, idea 4 is bull but the rest are the main ones floating in my mind. Being’s I’m a very tech clued up person I guessed my show would be rather tech inclined. Something my Nan could look at and ask a Million and one questions because it’s not of her era, but still amazing to look at. I got a bit of time to work it out, I wanna have a chat with someone first before I set my sights on anything solid.

So yeh, that’s my current frame of academic minding at present.

Adios!
