No, I wouldn’t. When I should really. Anyone can read anything and take it in whatever way they want, or even rob it from me and claim it as their own! Privacy on the internet is the hardest thing to master, lucky I’ve got nothing to hide, eh?
ANYWAY! Enough of the randomness (I dunno where that came from to be honest.. :S ) so lets get on with some facts.
First of all, anyone who does read my blog, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hope you had a good Christmas and New Year. I hope 2010 is the year for you.
Secondly, I am now back to ‘work’ as it were. I’ve had a nice long break from anything work related, including playing about in After Effects, Photoshop and the likes. (Mainly as my Netbook isn’t quite up to the job, lol. I need my Mac for that but it’s not with me.) But now I’ve had a nice break, I feel a bit more refreshed and ready to tackle the last 6 months of education! I say last, and fingers crossed for once I mean it. I left Secondary school saying “I’m not going to college, I’m going to get a job.” and I ended up going to college. I left college and said “I’m not going to Uni, I’m going to get a job.” and I nearly did! One place got back to me twice for a job but then I got all indecisive and applied for some clearing spaces at Hertford Uni and was turned down, I applied for LCAD and was accepted! I did have a massive smile on my face that day, although Dad didn’t as he would have to drive 400 miles to and from to take me there. :p That said, I am adamant that this is my last year of education and it is now time for me to get into the professional world asap, before another recession turns up or 2012 actually happens.
With this in mind, as much as I love my website at present, I don’t feel that it is good enough to promote me and my work. There are several ‘tweeks’ needed to make this layout 100% complete, and also all my content needs to be uploaded still… But even still, I think I can do better, visually and on the nitty-gritty behind the scenes stuff too. So, I have decided when PPD3 comes around, I’m going to overhaul my website again, but this time actually finish it and show that I am a person that needs to be part of someone’s workforce.
Also, Alex and myself will be teaming up for the last time on a Uni brief for the Final Major Project. At first we were unsure as to what we were going to do, but Alex dropped an amazing idea into the mix and it’s expanded from there. I came back to him a few days later with a ’story’ kind of thing so the idea has a purpose and he loves it as much as me, so I think we have a winner on our hands.
I wont give much away just yet, as we need to get the specifics down, but if were allowed to do it, it will be a great work of art.
The main thing on my mind at present though is my dissertation. The bastard child of Satan itself! I know of several people who said they still ain’t started yet, I also know of people who are half done, but for me, a guy who is turd at structured essay writing (Or any essay writing, really) I feel that I am VERY far behind and I’m quite worried about it if I am honest. It’s not as big as most Uni dissertations I have seen people write. 15k words seems to be the average word count for Uni dissertations but ours is only 6-8000 words, and of that amount I have written 1200, and I’m already out of things to say! Although, admittedly I have only just introduced my dissertation and stuff, but I feel that I’ve put it all in the intro and not put the rest into chapters. I also chose a rather hard topic. I thought at first Piracy will be a dead easy subject as there so much on-line about it, lots of stuff to reference and it’s a rather hot topic at the moment, but then when I went in search of specific answers, they weren’t there, or at least were very hard to find!
Music Piracy is what my dissertation is on to be specific. I initially wanted to write about all forms of digital content piracy but I got told it may be too broad, so I might benefit from just focusing on one part. Music Piracy is the most talked about form of piracy, there are lots of stuff about the ethics behind it and all that jazz. Etc, etc.
I’m waffling now, so I wont go any further with that lol.
My plan is to write at least 4000 words before I go back to Uni and email my dissertation tutor when I get back and go from there. If I don’t reach 4k, I will have a mental breakdown!
That said, I am off to wipe my Flickr account so I can use it as a online scrapbook sorta thing.
Adios amigos!
