Today was another eventful day. Lot’s of hands on deck today which was great and made light work of what needed to be done.
From when I got in… Titanic was having some holes mapped out onto her. (If you haven’t realised, read previous blogs or worked it out yet… I’ve nicknamed the video wall Titanic.
) Three holes per board to be exact! In total the video wall will not be playing through the 8 screens originally planned, but 15 20″ screens embedded into the wall! I can’t wait to see it running.
So first thing was first, drawing on the cutting lines for said holes. Then, cutting!
Oops, wrong image!
After a good chunk of the day went by, all the holes were cut out and Hi5′s were in order. While boards were being cut, other people got to work on painting them a base coat of white then the first coat of grey. I’m not entirely sure how many coats they will receive, but I’m sure I shall tell you once it’s been done. (^_^)
I didn’t get the final image of them all grey and drying as we were all off home, lol. But they are all done and will be put up tomorrow, screens installed and I am sure, some form of test be done.
Tomorrow is also projector wall day! It’s going to be cleaned with sugar soap (I think it was?) and then painted nice and white.
All that needs doing in that room then will be cleaning up the floor and surrounding area, setting up the projector which also should be tomorrow and I would guess installing the speakers. So in theory, all the hard work should be done by tomorrow and the next week be all small things like posters, information and other lark.
OH! I forgot.. The holes that have been cut out will receive a nice silver lip around them, just to add some shinny-shinny and also add a touch of class to the wall and videos themselves. Not only that, it will make the edges look far more attractive and just plain old cut and sanded wood! So should a reki to B&Q go well, it should be included in the final build.
In a bit people!
