PLEASE TELL ME INTERNET YOU HAVE SEEN THE VIDEO IN WHICH THE TITLE CAME FROM!
Anyway. With that out of the way, I thought it was high time I learnt how to use Linux properly. Well, I saw properly… I mean to the kind of level I can use Mac.
In September I am going to be starting an internship for a couple months and one thing I will be working on is computers. The computers need an OS and Ubuntu is lovely, lightweight and best of all… FREE. I have always been a Windows boy. Then I got to Uni and saw the way of the Mac and now I love them both equality. One OS I have never really looked into was Linux and I can’t really pin why.
The people I always saw using Linux were coders. I stepped away from coding after college, so I think I instinctively thought if I had Linux, I would have to run the thing by code. But, Ubuntu gives you a lovely GUI to use and the Netbook version of Ubuntu is even simpeler on a smaller screen. My plan is to learn how to problem solved and generally use the computer like a regular user, maybe even a pro user. With Windows theres not a lot I dont know, especially with hardware. Mac I know what the file types are, what this and that means and the more in-depth stuff. But Linux I am a complete noob. What is the linux equivalent of a .exe or a .pkg file?! What sort of apps are there?! So on and so forth.
So yeah, I have quite a learning expedition on my hands. It’s rare I feel like a novice, I don’t intend on being one for that long.
